With two thrilling productions…

Featuring the classics of William Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe.

A mysterious tale

The Play Group’s new production, The Strange Case of Hotel Morgue is freely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s classic The Murders in the Rue Morgue with the investigative figure of Auguste Dupin. The novel is considered to be the first modern detective story in world literature. The Play Group’s new production also owes much to the style of Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie and their famous characters Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot.
We take you back in time, to France, to a small village in the countryside not far from Paris. A calm, tranquil countryside. But all is not well. Following a series of horrific murders the little village is shocked and the police mystified and confused.
In typical interactive and humorous Play Group style, your students will be taken on a wonderful journey of mystery and imagination, bordering at times on the fantastic, with lots of twists and turns and more than one surprise! More importantly, the clear and accessible language used will be adapted to suit all levels, from elementary to University students of English.

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them.
